How to get started with your schematic plan:
1. Send us a copy of your surveyed plot plan and/or architectural plans depicting the existing conditions. Be sure to indicate any existing features not covered in the plan, such as: walkways, driveways, paths, known utilities, garden beds and elements to remain.
2. Indicate where the North Arrow is in reference to this plan and whether your Library faces North, South, East or West. (to help identify sun exposure)
3. Take photographs of your outdoor library space from as many views as possible. NOTE: Panoramic shots are most preferable – to do this, stand in place taking as many shots as needed, from as far left to as far right where most critical design aspects will be covered.
4. Finally, indicate your desired design theme and include a list of any preferred trees and / or shrubs you may like to have implemented in the design. Also include any pertinent information such as unsightly views, shady or sunny areas, or saturated soil conditions.
5. Send your package of materials along with a check made payable to The National Gardening Association at: 1100 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT 05403
